WHY IS THE BOXER ENGINE IS SUPER COOL? - BOXER ENGINES EXPLAINED.

BOXER ENGINES: INTRODUCTION:                          We all know various engine setups and designs. The INLINE and the V engines are the most common in this automotive world . There's also a different kind of engine that holds up its heritage from the end of the 18th century  till date ,that's THE BOXER ENGINE!!. WHY SO THE NAME BOXER??                             Boxer engines are powerful, efficient and way loud than the other engines ,they are also called as Horizontally opposed engines .The name boxer is given due its odd firing order of pistons and its arrangement .                             In a inline engine the pistons are straight but in a Boxer engine the pistons are faced opposite to each other and also their movement is similar to a boxer ,using his hands to fight . That's super cool right . WHO GOT THIS FIRST?                        Its none other than our Great German inventor and engine pioneer Karl Fiedrich Benz. He is widely recogni

WHICH IS THE PREFECT CONSOLE FOR 2020?? - PS5 vs XBOX SERIES X

LET'S CHECK HOW NEW PS 5 AND X BOX SERIES X COMPETE EACH OTHER,

INTRODUCTION:

We all know besides PC almost major gaming market share is for the consoles. In that the sony leads the market with its play station till date . Although the MICROSOFT'S XBOX series are good it could not claim the market of the SONY. Will  Microsoft's new Xbox series X change the story lets see.

THE BATTLE OF SPECS:

  1. DESIGN

In terms of design prespective both of the consoles are fresh with their looks which distinct them from their previous generation . That's a thumbs up  for the designers .
According to me the XBOX series X look more simple in looks creating a mini PC like feel ,
The microsft's XBOX series X also feature a new contoller which we'll discuss later.

The sony while made their console more aggresive and more stylish in terms of looks,
the sony also followed a decent design scheme mainly of considering the management of air flow for the thermals .
Regarding design both the consoles have their own fans .Design is a personal choice.

    2.PERFORMANCE

Here comes the hot topic, which has got a great CPU ,a Good memory, bandwidth ,clock speeds , TFLOPS, etc .But to keep it a bit competitive this time they both have almost similar specs on paper , NOTE "ON PAPER" real time performance may vary which we always see ,lets's see some Quick Specs.

    CPU:

Both the consoles have AMD's RYZEN 3rd generation chipsets which are at pc market from 2019. They could have waited for the launch of Ryzen 4th Gen processors but still Ryzen 3rd gen is a great choice
Some may ask why the biggest microprocessor maker INTEL has'nt made their way in these consoles.
The AMD had a combined CPU and GPU hit the right balance of price/performance for the market conditions when the PS4/Xbox One was being designed. Sony had bad experiences with both the Cell BE (processor) from IBM and Nvidia GPU of the PS3, from manufacturing problems to problems, developing software tools to extract performance from the exotic architecture of the machine, and they were ready to make a change to simplify development, manufacturing and reduce costs overall. The AMD APU represented a solution to a lot of their problems at an attractive price point and overall it has turned out well for everyone.

The CPU offers 8x zen 2 cores with a clock speed of (3.5&3.8Ghz) for XBOX and PS5 respectively and they are fabricated in a 7nm process
still the PS5 has got a slightly better clock speed when compared to the XBOX X.

    GPU:

Not only the CPU but these consoles share almost same GPU made by AMD
both use coustom RDNA 2 GPU's of memory buffer of 16 GB GDDR6
the RDNA 2 is 10 times powerful than the GPU used in the PS4
    XBOX

    SPECS

    CATEGORY                            PS5                                          XBOX SERIES X

    TFLOPS                                     10.28*                                             12
    (trillion floating
    point per second)

    BANDWIDTH                        448 GB/sec        10GB@ 560GB/sec,6GB@336GB/sec

    MEMORY                                  16GB                                          16GB

    TYPE                                         GDDR6                                     GDDR6

    RESOLUTION:

Both the consoles have upto 8k resolution support with upto 120 fps on most games but at 8k resolution 120 fps is a bit hard to achieve, we can only assure the frame rates after hands on testing .

     STORAGE:

Both the consoles this time ditched the slow mechanical hard drive and moved on to faster SSD's and they must definitely make the performance good .The XBOX has a 1TB SSD inbuilt and the PS5 has a custom 825GB* SATA SSD probably the EVO range from the SAMSUNG . Both consoles also have additional slots for expansion .The PS5 has a Nvme slot and the XBOX has an expansion slot as well.

    EXCLUSIVES:

And so far some popular gaming franchises opened up their exclusives for the PS5 and the XBOX series X .
The Xbox One X will get HALO INFINITE and SENUA'S SAGA: HELLBLADE 2, and the PS5 will get GODFALL. All three games will also be available on PC. But microsoft in recent times got the PS5 exclusives so there's no such big comparison on the exclusive titles. Here XBOX gets a small advantage due to adding almost most of the PS5 exclusives.

    COMPATIBILITY:

The PS5 will support most of the PS4 Titles and also some optimiszed for the PS4 pro , XBOX in turn promised all the XBOX ONE series games and original XBOX 360 Games.
Till date the XBOX series X seems to be quiet promising for player who like to play their older titles

    VIRTUAL REALITY:

Sony has already made their steps into the VR setup. The PS5 will also has a support for the VR.
But Microsoft still has no ideas for the VR , seems that we are not likely to get one oVR in their new XBOX.
    THUMBS UP SONY!!!

    CONCLUSION:

Based on the specs sheet the XBOX SERIES X seems a bit powerful that the PS5 , But we can't surely decide based on the specs alone both the consoles have their separate fan base . So far in the HISTORY of consoles, they have never come near to the Performance offered by a powerful PC . But at this time it seems to be slight different . I'm super excited for their launch ,both the MICROSOFT and SONY has planned their launch on summer of 2020. But due to the COVID-19 EPIDEMIC the launch may be on this winter.
